Description
Locality: Gulf of Venezuela, 2026
Grade: F++
Dredged at 120 meters depth
with some fine scars
The shell itself shows the characteristic warm amber/tan coloration with reddish-brown mottling typical of this subspecies. The elevated spire and overall form look excellent for the grade noted.
The damula subspecies is found specifically in Venezuelan and nearby Caribbean waters and is considered more collectible than the nominate form due to its deeper-water origin and relative scarcity. A 77mm F++ example is a very solid specimen!
BEAUTIFUL!
