A spectacular Brazilian vase shell collected off the coast of Recife, Pernambuco. Aristovasum cassiforme is immediately striking on two fronts: its dramatically spined and heavily sculptured exterior, with bold axial ribs, sharp spines and intricate frilled ornamentation, contrasts breathtakingly with a deep, glossy violet-purple aperture, one of the most vivid and intense interior colorations found in any gastropod. A truly eye-catching and collectible Brazilian species in excellent F+++ condition.
